My colors run and I want to leave a stain.
I want more than a few to know my name.
I cannot argue against the ‘if’ and the ‘only.’
This side of the woods makes me so lonely.
But boy have I got some ground to cover.
I’ve outgrown what I’ve come to discover.
Maybe I’ll make a new rearrangement.
But not for the sake of entertainment.
The sum I make isn’t much of a fortune.
But it’s enough to get a reasonable portion,
Of food, liberty and things to wear on my back.
With the promise I won’t be railed off my track.
Normally it’d kill me not to be something more.
I shed the colors to my name and let them explore.
True enjoyment of life is what I’m all about.
For I wouldn’t be who I am if I went without.
